Video  klip dengan lirik  diunggah di Youtube Katy sejak Kamis (8/8/2019). Video berdurasi 2 menit 49 detik tersebut sudah ditonton sebanyak satu juta kali di Youtube.

Kali ini Katy menyanyikan lagu tentang kandasnya sebuah hubungan. Dikutip dari ew.com, lagu tersebut sebelumnya pernah dibahas di media sosial.

Artinya Kita pernah melakukan percakapan tentang hubungan selamanya tetapi sekarang hanya membahas tentang cuaca, ok. Aku tak mempercayai dulu kita dari orang asing menjadi pasangan lalu kembali menjadi orang asing di kehidupan ini.

Dalam video tersebut, Katy menampilkan pasangan yang tak seakrab dulu lagi.

Menggunakan ruangan seperti kantor dan berwarna cerah lagu tersebut terlihat menyenangkan, meski lirik yang disampaikan menceritakan kandasnya sebuah hubungan.

Small talk merupakan single kedua tahun ini. Sebelumnya Katy merilis lagu berjudul Never Really Over yang merupakan musik solo pertamanya sejak tahun 2017.
