Storm Hits Cilacap Approaching the Executions

TRIBUNJOGJA.COM, CILACAP - Just few minutes toward the middle of the night on Thursday (28/7/2016), storm hit Wijaya Pura dock and Cilacap Area.

It was known that the executions of the 14 death-row drug inmates will be conducted on the middle of the night of Thursday or early Friday. The rain fell started from 11.20 pm.

The rains also carried strong wind. In addition, the lightning came to appear.

Earlier on the evening, the family of the drug convict from Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali left Nusakambangan. Using a minibus, they left Nusakambangan approximately 07.50 pm.

"They are Zulfikar's family," an officer named Kusyanto mentioned them.

The car was occupied by few persons, one of them were mentioned as the mother of Zulfikar. Also, there was a woman named Siti Rohana mentioned as Zulfikar's wife.

Just a moment after went out from Wijaya Pura dock, Siti declared some statements for the journalists waited on the gate. Asked whether the executions will be conducted tonight, she confirmed.

She also expressed her disappointment about the executions toward Zulfikar.

"Where is the humanity, the justice must be enforced. He is not an animal, he is a human," Siti said from inside the car.

Meanwhile, before that car left Wijaya Pura dock, a cleric that will accompany and pray for the convicts came. The cleric was Hasan Makarim.

"Just wait," he said shortly when the journalist asked him.

Not long after that,a diplomatic car arrived and went in Wijaya Pura. The registration of the car was CD 13 04. (*)
